Among the results of this effort was the first medal ever for an American in the Kilometer, when Erin Hartwell, on a Team USA KILO, won the Bronze in that event.
Erin Hartwell, a 3-time Olympian and current professional cycling coach, has achieved at the highest level of sports.
It was a great time to be a cyclist in America and I must say that I learned a heck of a lot from the professional riders I was surrounded by during that golden era of US cycling," said Erin. "There was a momentum (to succeed) with that group of athletes and I am fortunate to have been privy to train and compete alongside such notables of American sport.
At the 1992 Olympics, US National Team rider Jeanne Goley, on a Team USA Road frame, took 6th in the women's road race. Jeanne's continued success led to future wins and a lead role with the dominant Saturn Professional Women's Road Team.
